Somewhere in Between

We are slowly unraveling, The string tied to this tether, and When we get to the bottom thread, We’ll abandon ship or start again. We’ll start again. So don’t worry, I won’t put you in a song. Cause what we got is blurry, and all my words they come out wrong. Settle your nerves, with all your worry, just live and learn. If memory serves, we had our doubts as it were And all I’ve said to you is the whole truth. The truth is that I’m not over you. You cross my mind both night and day, ‘til they run together like a shade of grey. It’s really not fair baby when you say, “Go write another song. Add it to your résumé.” It’s not a résumé. And all I’ve said to you is the whole truth. So don’t worry, I won’t put you in a song. Cause what we got is blurry, and all my words they come out wrong. Settle your nerves, with all your worry just live and learn. If memory serves, we had our doubts as it were. And all I’ve said to you is the whole truth. The truth is that I’m not over you. So why do you need some kind of guarantee? Can’t give you all the details, but I’m trying. 20,000 leagues under the surface of me, Don’t need to dive to that depth to see, My misery. So don’t worry, I won’t put you in a song. Cause what we got is blurry, and all my words they come out wrong. So don’t worry, I won’t put you in a song. Cause what we got is blurry, and all my words they come out wrong. Settle your nerves, with all your worry, just live and learn. If memory serves, we had our doubts as it were. And all I’ve said to you is the whole truth. The truth is that I’m not over you.

I don’t have a choice, when you cover me with words. I don’t have a voice, when you walk all over my turn. I don’t have an exit route, and I’m not inclined to raise my voice and shout. Over you. This moment that we share, is not just about you. For a moment I wish you’d care, and actually listen close. For a moment please just hold it in, and don’t jump at the next chance to speak again. If you’re patient, it just might be worth the wait. If you listen, you just might like what I say. If you open, you just might learn a thing or two. There’s no need to turn this into, A conversation about you. And it might not be wise, to continue as we are. Cause it might not be alive, this conversation’s dead and gone. It might be missing a part, a piece, a half of a whole just quiet down you will see. You will see. If you’re patient, it just might be worth the wait. If you listen, you just might like what I say. If you open, you just might learn a thing or two. There’s no need to turn this into, A conversation about you. I know that you got a lot to say, But I’m not sure its volume is worth the weight/wait. So try on a new pair and take a walk, Instead of waiting for the next chance to talk. If you’re patient, it just might be worth the wait. If you listen, you just might like what I say. If you open, you just might learn a thing or two. There’s no need to turn this into, A conversation about you.

I think we’re doing, I think we’re doing the best we can. Second guesses, second guesses weren’t apart of the plan. It’s been said that, that we’ll weather this drought. But I’m impatient, I hate having to wait it out. Are you gonna make a decision, or Are you gonna simply give in, to a A quick fix something you can live with, or Are you gonna make a decision? Nobody said, nobody said let’s take our time. If we don’t decide, then I will decide to lose my mind. I hate to pressure, I hate to rush you along. Cause I understand that, that you can’t always be the one who is strong. Are you gonna make a decision, or Are you gonna simply give in, to a A quick fix something you can live with, or Are you gonna make a decision? I know you mean well, I know care. These good intentions aren’t your burden to bear. It’s sink or swim now, no land in sight. The best things don’t ever, come without a fight. Are you gonna make a decision, or Are you gonna simply give in, to a A quick fix something you can live with, or Are you gonna make a decision?

She was born a privileged kid, Based on no deeds that she did. She spends so much time being sad, They only gave her what they never had. If they could only see, the other side, Then they would know what each, felt on the inside. Don’t know where to go from here, Stumble blindly through the fear. Is the future what you fear? They ask, “Show me the place where you don’t pretend. You make these plans now, but you wouldn’t have then.” He fills her head with illusion and hope. They don’t have a clue and they’re the last to know. If they could only see, the other side, Then they would know what each, felt on the inside. Don’t know where to go from here, Stumble blindly through the fear. Is the future what you fear? Home isn’t home anymore, you find a replacement for, The feeling you get when you’re young, you fell for the idea of. Don’t know where you’re headed yet, but you got a game plan. You keep saying it’s your best bet. If they could only see, the other side, Then they would know what each, felt on the inside. Don’t know where to go from here, Stumble blindly through the fear. Is the future what you fear?

Indisposed 04:01
I’ve been saying the same old things, I’ve been singing this tired refrain for a while now. Now, now don’t live in the past. At what point am I grown up, Out of proportion and all blown up in my face now. Now it’s time to face facts. My net worth is low, my income’s a joke. Ain’t got no direction and no compass rose. There’s an outline, can’t see through the smoke. So please bear in mind, I’m indisposed. I got some ideas, ‘bout what I should do. But I can’t motivate, and I’m misconstrued. Where do I start to explain myself? My net worth is low, my income’s a joke. Ain’t got no direction and no compass rose. There’s an outline, can’t see through the smoke. So please bear in mind, I’m indisposed. My life begins right now, So what’s the point in rushing me? I’ve got some things to figure out. But things’ll fall in place you’ll see.

You left your bobby pins at my place. You left a few things why’d you have to leave a trace. I’ll get to the point I’m trying to make. Stuck in this rut and there's feelings I can’t shake. And my thoughts they turn to you. Every time, I think I’ve moved on from you. Every time, you find a way to slip through. Every time, you sneak up behind, And every time, that you cross my mind, I wish it was the last time. When I look I stare a hole straight through. Trying to close the distance between me and you. I’m so sick of playing games. Nobody better, you put them all to shame. And my thoughts they turn to you. Everytime, I think I’ve moved on from you. Everytime, you find a way to slip through. Everytime, you sneak up behind, And everytime, that you cross my mind, I wish it was the last time.
